Dear fellow teacher,

I’m here to share with you an activity I learned from the brilliant Debora Schisler during my ICELT course at Seven Idiomas back in 2017. Debora used this game to consolidate content previously taught during the course and that’s how I’ve been using it ever since.

Towards the end of this post, you’ll find the downloadable template for this game that you can edit and adapt to your lessons.

Instructions:

• This is the front page of the game: under each button, your students will find a task/question to complete and then get the points. Make sure you keep record of the points the groups are getting as well as the questions that were asked already.

• Students choose the letter (A, B, C, D) and the number of points worth (100 – 500). When you click, there will be a question/task. Since it’s editable, you can add whatever you need there. Consider: true/false, odd one out, multiple choices, open clozes, questions — any practice you may have in your lesson can be adapted to this game.

• Sometimes, students might come across with these two images:

• The arrow means that the lucky student/ group can switch points with any other student/group in the competition.

• The bomb means that the (not-so-lucky) student/group loses all his points.
